AI Travel Platform Fora Raises $60 Million in Series D Funding, Reaching a $1 Billion Valuation

AI-powered travel platform Fora has secured $60 million in Series D funding, pushing its valuation to $1 billion and officially placing the company among the latest unicorns in the travel technology sector.

The round was led by Forerunner and Tactile Ventures, with participation from investors including Insight Partners and Thrive Capital. With this latest raise, Fora’s total funding now stands at $138.5 million.

Founded in 2021, Fora operates at the intersection of travel services and advisor enablement. Its platform is designed not only for travelers seeking tailored trip planning, but also for travel advisors who need tools to run and grow their businesses more efficiently.

On the advisor side, Fora provides infrastructure for client communication, itinerary creation, and other core workflows. One of the company’s defining ideas is lowering the barrier to entry for people who want to become travel advisors, including many without prior experience in the travel consulting industry.

For consumers, the company offers customized travel support across categories such as honeymoons and family vacations. Its services span popular destinations including Costa Rica and Thailand, while also helping travelers find and connect with advisors who match their needs.

New funding will support wider use of AI assistant Via

Following the financing, Fora plans to expand the reach of its AI assistant, Via. The tool is built to help travel advisors handle time-consuming operational work such as market research and itinerary planning.

By automating repetitive administrative tasks, Via is intended to reduce the day-to-day workload for advisors and give them more time to focus on customer relationships and personalized service. Fora has made clear that its use of AI is meant to strengthen human advisors rather than replace them.

Platform growth and next areas of expansion

So far, travel advisors on the Fora platform have booked more than $3 billion in travel products. Notably, many of those advisors entered the platform without previous experience in the travel advisory field, underscoring Fora’s role in broadening access to the profession.

Looking ahead, the company plans to use the new capital to move into additional travel categories, including cruises and flights, while also growing its team to support that expansion.

AI is becoming a bigger force in travel

Fora’s latest funding round reflects a larger shift taking place across the travel industry. As AI tools become more deeply embedded in the travel service chain—from recommendations and itinerary design to customer engagement and back-office operations—the industry is moving toward more intelligent and personalized service models.

The investment also signals continued investor interest in startups that combine artificial intelligence with focused vertical markets. In Fora’s case, that combination of AI and travel advisory infrastructure is proving compelling enough to attract significant capital as the company scales.
