Google rolls out Gemini in Chrome in 7 new countries
Google is expanding its Gemini in Chrome feature to seven additional countries across Asia-Pacific. The rollout includes desktop and iOS support in all new markets except Japan.

Google announced Monday that it is making its Gemini in Chrome feature available in seven new markets: Australia, Indonesia, Japan, the Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, and Vietnam. The feature is rolling out to both desktop and iOS in all of these countries except Japan.
Expanding Gemini’s Presence in Chrome
Google has been integrating AI and Gemini into Chrome in more ways since last year, initially through a floating window interface.
Earlier this year, the company introduced a sidebar-based assistant designed to help users answer questions across tabs and make use of Gemini’s Personal Intelligence feature. This capability allows users to connect services such as Gmail and Google Photos to receive personalized answers.
Through the sidebar in Chrome, users can:
- Schedule meetings with Calendar
- Check location details using Maps
- Draft and send emails with Gmail
Users can also transform images on the web using Nano Banana 2 directly within the sidebar.
Previous Rollouts and Availability
Gemini in Chrome first became available to U.S.-based users with its January launch. In March, Google expanded access to India, Canada, and New Zealand.
With the latest rollout, Gemini in Chrome is now available in additional countries. However, Google’s agentic feature — which can control a user’s browser window to complete tasks on their behalf — remains in testing. It is currently available only to users in the U.S. who subscribe to the AI Pro and AI Ultra paid plans.
